DDS Converter

Hi. Any plans to provide a conversion tool for taking DDS and generating the equivalent web form and java script in the format of your 'change user' or 'demo02 - get a record' forms?

The reason for this is that our application has hundreds of screens, of which about 1/3 are heavily used and the other 2/3 only rarely. It makes sense for us to put extra effort in converting the heavily used screens to improve the flow, error handling, layout, etc., but for the remaining screens a simple mass conversion would be the way to go.

Hi dod, we are in development now on a tool that will have generic file editing capabilities within Valence. One of the options within that tool will be to generate a front-end Ext JS form and RPG backend object for a particular file that you can then customize to your liking. It will also work to generate an editor for a DDS screen format or other external data structure. I think this is exactly what you're looking for. This new functionality will be included with Valence in a future release (probably August or September 2008 timeframe).
